Happy Children's Day!
I felt so exhausted today.. Legs are breaking!
Today, I have accomplished many things
First, I have finally changed my ezlink card.
This is how the new ezlink card looks like

It looks very normal nothing special.. and if given a choice, I think I won't want to change it.. That's also the reason why... I only changed it today.. LOL.
The original plan of SMRT was to have the last change date to be on 30Sept but too many people like me.... cant be bothered to change as we cannot really see how the new card will benefit us.
In order to travel with on the bus with the new ez-link cardm we will need to have the minimum stored value to cover the cost of travel from the point we get on to the last stop on that service. And we will need at least $3 in our card before we can start our journey on the MRT/LRT. I felt that this is ridiculous!!! Just imagine you are on transit and u alighted at a bus stop to change to another bus. N now! your ezlink card value falls below the cost of travel from where we are to the last stop of the new service, does that mean that we cannot use our ezlink card then have and to pay the higher cash fare?
The so called benefits of the new ezlink card is that it can be used in the next generation in-vehicle unit, school canteens, printing services, F&B outlets, Private Buses, 7-Eleven, ERP, EPS,Taxis, libraries, McDonald's, School book stores, Singapore Pools and Hospitals.
Seriously think about it, how many people drives and take public transport? The most will be those weekend cars owners as well as those who are using the Park and Ride Scheme. So is there really a need for the ezlink card to have such services??
Now that most Singaporeans have our ATM cards which can be use in 7-Elevens, Taxis etc. Is there any need for another card like this?
Did SMRT seriously put themselves in the shoes of the commuters and think of what we really want? Or they are just trying to impose their own thinking into the commuters with the intention of increasing profit???
..... thinking hard
