2 degree Ice art (15 February )

Got my 2 degree Ice Art tickets from deal.com.sg. As part of our Vday celebration, we decided to visit the exhibition hoping for a chance to reminisce our Harbin trip when we took our pre wedding shoot in the freezing weather.

We brought our own winter jackets along and that saved us a lot of queuing time. We were allowed immediate entry since we have got our own winter clothing. Most of the visitors did not bring along their winter wears and there was a long queue for that

Upon entering the exhibition hall. we were greeted by a fat statue of Raffles and Merlion

The statues werent majestic. They were rather small in size actually

Besides the 2 Singapore icons, there were also icons/ famous structure of the world. For eg. Eiffel tower

The miniature Big Ben

From the above pic, the Big Ben is about double my height... which means it is about 3m tall only since I wasnt wearing heels that day

The slide was perhaps the most interesting attraction in the whole hall

But it was really nothing compared to the one at HArbin

A couple selfie for both of us as we like the castle like structure in the background

We had almost done with the whole exhibit in less than 15min but we didnt want to leave yet. At least we were enjoying the cold. so more selfie!

Since we had brought along the Macarons which my family had bought for us from Switzerland (we didnt want to leave them in the car, in case they melt due to the hot weather), we decided to consume them.
Mr Cheong started to pose with the macarons :)

And all of a sudden, A BLACK OUT!!! OMG!!!!
There isnt any photo effect. It was a real Black out.. and it lasted for a few minutes.

We spent at most an hour in the exhibition. It was a disappointing experience for us. I think there is alot more room for improvement. Having been to the Ice sculptures exhibition in Harbin where the sculptures were more dedicatedly carved, the ones in 2 degree were seriously not up to standard. (It was still claimed that this exhibition features works from award winning ice scluptors
Besides the sub standard ice cravings, the exhibition was not even 1/10 the size of the one in Harbin and seriously speaking.. even with us taking photos with almost every one of the exhibits, we could have completed the whole exhibition in like 30mins.

We end off our visit with a free drink from the bar. We didnt go into the ice bar as it was overly crowded that day

Useful Information
  • You can rent a winter coat for $5 each, or bring your own.  A sweater or jacket and a cap are sufficient to keep you warm.  The smallest winter coat for rent is too big for a pre-schooler, so it is best to bring warm clothings for your pre-schoolers.
  • Gloves are free and issued at the ticket counter.
  • Kids below 9 enter for free.
  • It takes about 20-30 minutes to enjoy the exhibition, and longer if you want to queue up again and again for the icy slides.
  • There is a car park at the 2 Degree Ice Art exhibition.
  • There is also a 2 Degree Ice Bar outside of the exhibition area with tables and chairs made entirely of ice.
