Soon we arrived at the carton king -da Keng branch. It is the outlet which while doing research attracted me the most And the one which I've planned to go. There was a family who was at the counter which looks like a security guard post buying their tickets so we took the opportunity to take some photos. I got Mr Cheong to pose with the Fortune cat lookalike :)
And floral lanterns made again of papers hung along the 'wooden poles'
We were served cold plain water after we have placed our order. The paper cup is served with a stand made of the Carton King corrugated paper again
Chanced upon the 3rd stall of 官芝霖 which just opened for business that day and decided to get a 大肠包小肠 since there was no queue

Short introduction about Carton King (紙箱王)
Almost
everything in Carton King (紙箱王) is made by corrugated paper, such
as ceiling, tables, chairs, lanterns, plates, pen…etc. In
souvenir store, it offers not only your usual paper products, but also paper
hats and bags made from leather-like paper.
Also before you enter the vicinity, you will see many windmills welcoming you.
Entrance fee: NT 200 The full NT200 can be fully redeemable after 3pm. (NT100 at restaurant and another NT100 for other purchases including in the cafe)
On the tickets there are small boxes, and you are supposed to stamp at the various 'theme parks'. once you have got all the stamps you can then exchange for a small souvenir (a mini toy car.. zzzz) at either the cafe or the bee museum
大坑店園區
After we got the tickets, we were greeted by more windmills now planted on the ground
And the first thing you will see is 紙箱動物園 where there is a display of 'animals' made from corrugated paper.
紙箱動物園
After the 紙箱動物園, you will come to a circular garden, where you will see many paper sculptures like the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, showcasing the multifaceted range of corrugated-paper art.
However, instead of taking photos in the garden we decided to comb other 'theme parks' surrounding the garden first. So we proceeded to 紙箱故事館
紙箱故事館
紙箱故事館 is actually the shop selling everything made of paper
There are miniature of the animals statues which we have seen at the Carton King Zoo on sale as well as other creative items made of paper..
The Mona Lisa Portrait looks quite obvious here on photos and on cameras, however, it is not easily seen with naked eyes. We didnt notice that it is Mona Lisa until we overheard a tour guide mentioning it to his tour mates during our cingjing- Carton King visit.
Mr Cheong decided to try the stool and sofa made from corrugated paper
A chair made of corrugated paper is completely safe because it is different from the common 3-layer corrugated paper. The corrugated paper used by Carton King has 5 layers and has a guaranteed load-bearing capability of 200kgs.
After the 紙箱故事館, we decided to go up to the 2nd floor to 台灣咖啡故事館
台灣咖啡故事館
This is the place where you can enjoy your afternoon tea in.. They also have a section which sell sugarless stuff and we bought some again for the elderlies
The paper used to make the tableware is fortified with calcium carbonate, making it heat and water resistant as well as decomposable. This eco-friendly feature is welcomed by many Carton King's customers
Now back to the circular garden downstairs,
Me with the small sized Leaning Tower of Pisa
And the bigger one..
The circular garden was supposed to be an area for a pub for drinks like the below photo (taken from the website) and is known as 紙箱王森林酒吧
But when we were there, there wasnt any tables or chairs
After crossing the bridge in the garden, and up the stairway, we reached 蜜蜂故事館
蜜蜂故事館
And there were really many bees... omg.... In the bee museum, you can buy some honey products
The garden when the sun is about to set... it looks beautiful. Our last stop is towards the restaurant
There is a minimum spending at NT100 per pax. But not to worry, a simple set meal here would have costs more than that.
We were served cold plain water after we have placed our order. The paper cup is served with a stand made of the Carton King corrugated paper again
A selfie while waiting for the food to be served
While waiting, Mr Cheong and I had a drawing competition. Guess who drew what?
Our Ice honey were served in a carton made made from the recycled material, but not to worry, they do not reuse the' cup'! And in fact, after you finished your drink, you can bring the 'cup' home and turn it into a saving box or other useful things depending on your own creativity.
Finally, our 野菇餐 was served. Btw, to note Im not a vege lover, but the 野菇餐 is splendid! We ordered mushroon meal as we were around the Xinshe area where mushroom is a famous product there. I kinda love it! Yummy. Indeed the mushrooms are fresh and juicy. A little different from what we have in Singapore
Cant really remember how much the meal was. But after deducting NT200 from our entrance tickets, we still need to top up. *btw, we only ordered 1 set to share
Carton king marks the end of our day at shinshe. We decided to top up for e uncle to send us back to fengjia area. He charges up additional 300nt for travelling from Taichung train station to fengjia area which I think was quite exp... But since it was peak hours n it saved us the hassle of getting another cab or wait for a bus, we were ok with it ...
逢甲夜市
So back to fengjia. We went back to e Minsu to put our loots before getting out for fengjia night market again. So we started out our foodhunting at Fengjia again
Chanced upon the 3rd stall of 官芝霖 which just opened for business that day and decided to get a 大肠包小肠 since there was no queue
But to our disappointment. The 3rd stall of 官芝霖 at Fengjia CANNOT MAKE IT at all. We thought the guy had forgotten to add the sauce to our order. It tasted horrible. We would not want to order from the 3rd store ever again.
We ended off our day with the masks we bought the night before... Our skin became rather dry after 4 days in Taichung .. So enjoy!
Was thinking of going to mancover, dong dong yu yuan store, mushroom farm etc around Xinshe area but totally not enough time.
There are just too many places for me to explore in Taichung, I totally regret not allocating more days here..
But this gives me a chance to come back again isn't it ? So stay tune to my next travel to Taichung again
