25 April : Uncle Leong seafood

Got a craving for crab on Wednesday so I dated my dad, my sisters and Mr Cheong to meet out to for crabs at Uncle  Leong. I have also tried asking Alan etc for a crab feast at Melben but unable to confirm a date yet cause everyone seemed to be busy on different weekends..zzzzz Mr Cheong wouldn't want to go Melben with mr as he didn't want to queue .... The previous time we were there, Alan went over at 5+pm when we were supposed to meet at 630 pm to help the whole clique to queue. Lol
So uncle Leong for now until someone can help me to queue!
We have been here a few times and we didn't know it is that famous. A lot of people have raved about their crabs.

Upon reaching uncle Leong at 7+ ard 8 pm on a Friday night, there were enough space for us. We were greeted by the receptionist who told us to leave down our hp no, go take a look at the menu and told us that only when we have placed our order can we enter and be seated inside .
So ordering time..... By the way, the menu doesnt state the price for all the dishes which I though was not very honest
Upon entering, u will be greater by the wall which is also the sign board. It is decorated with many shelves of the crabs.

Initially we only ordered 1 medium crab beehoon, 1 medium salted egg and 1 cashew diced chicken. The receptionist was shocked telling us that we might not have enough food, so once we were seated , we looked through the menu again and placed our 2nd order: 1 medium seafood fried rice and and clay pot toufu.

All of us were hungry. I think we can swallow an ox now. To our surprise, the seafood fried rice was the first to be served.

seafood fried rice

The sea food fried rice was quite yummy. The taste was spread evenly to every grain and the fried rice did not lump together like what some other places are serving. The medium sized fried rice serves quite a big portion. We managed to divide the fried rice among the 6 of us and each of us managed to get 1 bowl of it . Btw, I think the seafood fried rice is very worth it as it only cost us s$8

claypot toufu

Next we were being served the clay pot toufu.
When the claypot toufu was being served, the egg yolk was still raw. The staff told us that we needed to stir it before consuming

The fire at the bottom of the clay pot actually last till the end of our dinner. This claypot toufu costs S$12. We were thinking if they had forgotten about our 1st order as both the claypot toufu as well as the seafood fried rice were from our 2nd order.

crab beehoon

However, after waiting for sometime, our first crab beehoon was served!..... :) The medium crab was kinda big in size

The broth of the dish was yummy and it was agreed by everyone. Each of us managed to get ourselves at least 1 bowl each.

cashew diced chicken

Next came the cashew diced chicken. I didn't quite like the taste of it.

After paying the bill, we thought that it was the least value for money and we wouldn't order it again. This small serving cost us s$20 ! If it was nice still not too bad but I didn't like the taste at all.

Our next crab dish.

Salted egg crab:

All of us felt that the salted egg crab was not bad. But I thought it would be better if it was cooked wet. ( the receptionist did informed us that the salted egg crab is cooked dry. But coz we don't eat spicy, we didn't order the jingsha crab )

Our total bill came to about s$223++ for the 6 of us. It was expensive but we felt it was ok since it's crab!!!

We walked passed 32 degrees Fahrenheit. I had seen deals of it before but didn't buy it coz I didn't exactly know where it is located. They are serving collagen shave ice. Since we were too full, some of us bought Ice blended watermelon drink n some bought their bubble tea. Their bubble tea taste like those from Quickly( if u can remember this brand)

We will come back for their shave ice one day. Till then .. Stay tune!!
