Han's Dinner on a Saturday night 5 April 2014

It was a rainy Saturday evening and Mr Cheong wanted to eat the apple pie which he loves from Han's. We will be catching the movie  "Noah" at Yishun GV so we went to the Han's outlet along Thomson road. 

Since it was rainy, there were many disgusting creepy crawlies outside the restaurant. Luckily I only manage to see one flew in. But the outside was disgustingly infested...didn't take any pic of the disgusting sight though.. Ok so these are our order. 

We were served the soup of the day and the extremely hard toast which goes with it, Mr Cheong's apple pie and got milk tea otherwise also known as teh. And my strawberry rectangle cake slide and ice lemon tea. We were given the vibrator caller which vibrates when our main courses are ready for collection. 

The soup of the day is the cream of mushroom which tasted not bad except for the extremely hard toast which didn't seem to soften even after soaking into the soap for sometime. 

My strawberry rectangle cake slide  ($3.30) taste quite not bad comparing with the pandan cake which I ha ordered previously. 

The sponge was moist and soft. And the strawberry jam in between the layers were sweet yet not too sweet.. It was quite yummy. 

The apple pie which Mr Cheong loves but I find it average only as I didn't really like the crust 

Just as I was still taking pics of my food, the caller vibrator vibrated, so Mr Cheong went to collect our main courses

His Carbonara with sausages... If I remembered correctly, It costs S$9.80.

I tried a little of the carbonara and the sausage. The carbonara was average but of a low average. maybe I would rate it 4/10. The black pepper sauce which comes with it is spicy and not suitable for those who dont eat spicy food.

Next my half chicken which looked good. The colours were attractive. It costs S$15.90. If u order the chicken leg instead, it will cost S$12.90. I felt the half chicken was more worth it, thus I got the half chicken

The half chicken was ok. Again average in my sense. (5/10) The marination done could have been better if leave for a longer period of time. There is some taste in the meat itself unlike some other places where the breast part of the meat is totally dry and tasteless. But if the taste has been stronger would be better. The black pepper sauce given was the exact same one as the one which came with the Carborana.  Guess whats the best for this dish? The mashed potatoes!

But the greedy me eventually could not finish the half chicken! cause I needed to save some space for my dessert! The strawberry rectangle slice... Yumz...
