Thai Me Up Mookata Upper Thomson Road

Today, Mr Cheong decided to bring me for mookata dinner. He chose to go upper Thomson as it was along the way from my parents house back to his. This wasn't the first time we had mookata along upper Thomson but this was the first time we decide to have it at Thai me up. 

We ordered a set A since Mr Cheong doesn't take beef. Can't exactly remember the price but it was S$30+. Set B which consists of beef costs slightly more. 

They also have a variety of soup base to choose from. But the selection will cost u  a few $$ more. We decided to stick to the normal chicken soup base since I'm not a spicy taker.

When the food arrived, I noticed the difference between Thai me up mookata and other brands. 

1st it uses gas instead of charcoal.

2nd the type of pan used is different. The one used at Thai me up has a very shallow soup portion. Moreover, the part for the BBQ, has no holes. 

We had to top up the soup once every few minutes. Though the staff did a pretty good job in helping us to top up. 

The portion wasn't that big even though it is supposed to be for 2-3 pax. We had them with a bowl of rice each and were just nice full after that. I think it would be too little for 2 guys or 3 girls especially if u didn't feel like ordering rice. 

Besides mookata, Mr Cheong also had craving for tomyam soup. I tried a little. It was yummy but too spicy for me. Though that's the case, I think the tomyam was really tasty. For those who take spicy food, their tomyam is a must try!
