LAO BEIJING HIGHTEA BUFFET (4 June )

Wanted to go to shrove Tuesday but Jeff was thinking of having Hi-tea at Lao Beijing. So here we go to LBJ. Their Hi-tea is served from 2-5pm. But Jeff only managed to reach at 415. So we only had a short session. I went in earlier at about 4pm.

The buffet is ala carte kind and I was given a small slip of paper to place my order. There are only 12 option to choose from and 1 of them was oos. Many of the options were noodles. I placed my order with the staff, choosing one of each of the selected dishes

Besides the dishes on the 'menu' there were few other options on the buffet table

I took some and tried them while waiting for Jeff's arrival.

Of the 4 dimsum which I had chosen. The one which taste the most yummy is actually the cha siew bun

The exterior tastes like those that goes with the curry and inside it has red bean fillings.

When Jeff arrived, my order was still not served and we found out that the waitress who took my order did not even update my order with the kitchen, neither had she updated my order in their system :(
It was only after Jeff checked with them about the Xiao Long bao that we realised that and told them to update our order immediately

It wasnt long that they served my order after that.

LBJ has taken away their xiao long bao from the buffet menu and replaced it with the bao below. Can remember its name but seriously it sucks to the max. We ate only one each from the basket and stopped. Its taste was horrible. :(

There were 2 types of dessert- hot and cold.

The hot red bean dessert was rather dilute. Perhaps we were late?

The almond cocktail was good

We paid $12.90++ for our Hi-Tea buffet at LBJ. For this price, the food were ok. No way am I going to go back if they increase the price.
Seriously their food was average or slightly below average.
