13 July 2014: Cafe Melba

Decided to cafe-hop to Cafe Melba this time since it is located near to Jeff's place.
It seems like Cafe Melba no longer allows their customers to bring their pets into its vicinity

When we reached at 1+pm, the place was full. We had to wait a while for a seat. We have no preference in either sitting indoors or outdoors and because of that we didnt have to wait too long before we got a seat outdoor

Brunch Menu (Weekend & PH)

We ordered : hot chocolate for Mr Cheong, Flat white for Eva, Beer for Jeff and Mocha for myself
When the drinks were served, the simple coffee art were destroyed :(

When the Free range eggs Benedict was served, I was a little disappointed. The serving was terribly small when it costs S$20++ Both the eggs + the toast could literally fit the cup of Mocha besides it with lotsa empty space unfilled.

Besides the small portion, the taste also doesnt justify the price paid. The eggs benedict is nothing more than edible.

The smoked salmon and scramble eggs on toast is another disappointment. The serving is much more pathetic than the eggs benedict. It is purely just 1 slice of toast with eggs and 2-3 small slices of salmon and it costs S$18

I guess it is not difficult to guess the taste of the smoked salmon and I have nothing much to say about it.

Jeff and Eva ordered  the Mega Melba cooked breakfast to share. It costs $36++ and it is the largest portion among the 3 sets. but of coz it is actually for 2 pax, thus everything comes in set of 2

The best in this set was the mushrooms. and all of us feel that this set was kinda the most worth it. However, none of the 3 is able to justify the crowd and the price paid.

There was a promotion going on that when u spent $80 or more, there will be some vouchers for return visit... however the vouchers are only given out on weekdays and since we visited it on a Sunday, we were not eligible for the vouchers... I find this idea a bit zzz... They should have given the vouchers regardless of weekdays or weekends.. but only allow the usage of the vouchers on weekdays..Isnt that a better marketing strategy? Now, all the 4 of us thought that, we would not come back again. We find that the price does not justify the food served
