Good Friday 18 April 2014 Part 1 - Breakfast at Loysel's Toy by PapaPalheta
Woke up very early as we need to send mum to the airport. she was going to korea with with friends. The flight was at 10+am but she actually told us that she needed to reach the airport by 8am. We thought that it was because she was going with a tour, that's why. We were slightly late, cause we left our place late and when we reached mum's place, she was still in the washroom and upon getting out of the house, she realised that she had forgotten her passport..zzzzz
While on the way to the airport, her friends called and asked her where she was.
She was supposedly the latest.. All of the others had reached... zzzzz. We reached the airport at 8.09am though. while mum was checking in, the 3 of us decided to take some selfie with my monopod.
Today will be the grand opening of my monopod. :)
Pictures with mum after she was done with her checking in. (can u see cockroach at the background of the above pic? - her mil was going on a same trip as my mum) She typically ignored us, pretended not to see us.. Who wants to see her pesty face though
Mr Cheong went to park his car and joined us in our selfie shoot. After that, Mum's friends wanted to go for breakfast so we bid good bye to mum (cause Mr Cheong and I had planned for breakfast elsewhere), we sent Pei and Yu to Bedok, they wanted to go there for hair rebonding ( they claimed that that salon is a popular one and hope to be the first customer- however, i heard from them that, though they were early- before the salon opens, there were another 5 customers in front of them.. zzzzz)
We went to Loysel's toy for our breakfast.

We were quite lost the moment we arrived. We need to find our own seats and find our own menu (which we had difficulty at ) most of the staff were just stuck behind the counter, learning how to be a block of wood. which totally matches their number blocks for orders (guess cause there isnt any service charges)
Decided to give Mr Cheong a treat since it was Good Friday, since he has been paying for almost all my food since our wedding.
He ordered Eggs Benedict Trio (S$15) and Mocha (S$5) while I ordered Egg Benedict on Toast (S$12) and Cappuccino (S$4.50) Initially Mr Cheong was still thinking of ordering some cakes/pastries but he decided to have our breakfast first before deciding...
A couple selfie while waiting for our breakfast to be served.
Soon, our coffees were served.
The coffees, each came with a small cookie which Mr Cheong commented that it was tasty. I felt that the crunchiness was like those cookies from Famous Amos so, not bad! though i would prefer it to come with come chocolate chip cookies instead.
Mr Cheong's Mocha
Mrs Cheong's Cappuccino
My Egg Benedict on Toast is being served first. I chose ham to go with my toast
Mr Cheong's Egg Benedict Trio.
After seeing Mr Cheong's Egg Benedict Trio, I kinda regret, should have ordered the same as Mr Cheong instead. With just an additional S$3, he got additional salmon and bacon as topping. :(
Both Egg Benedict were good.
After food, while enjoying the coffees, I asked Mr Cheong for some sugar which is on the table besides him. But before he passed me the sugar, he used it to practise his photography. He has been complaining about me hogging his camera and he hasnt had a chance to practise and his skill has been deteriorating. HAHA.
So here are his photos of the brown sugar
Overall experience at Loysel's toy : Good, cozy and laid back ambience, good for relax and afternoon coffee with friends. Prices are cheap and affordable. I find the location quite out of the way for those who are not driving though I heard that it is only a 10 min walk from Lavender Mrt. Egg Benedict is yummy. Cappuccino wise I thought it was average, just like those from other coffee places.
