Movenpick Heritage Hotel - Tablescape (18 May 2014)
Let me take a selfie before we depart for our destination!
Or should I say 2 selfies? lol.
Pretending to think about where to go for dinner since I was super hungry at this point in time.
Since Mr Cheong decided to park at Vivo City and take a monorail to Sentosa island,(BTW, it is actually more expensive for us to do that. ) We decided to grab a small bite before our dinner. We saw this store selling HK ji dan gao. We got the Pandan one which costs us $2.50 only. After walking around for sometime, we proceeded to SEntosa Island.
The reason for wanting to park at VIVO n take a monorail ride to Sentosa - getting the gelato stick from STICK HOUSE which is located at Imbiah Station.
Mövenpick Heritage hotel Sentosa is within a 5 min walk away from Imbiah Station.
We would be having our dinner at Tablescape
Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa’s flagship restaurant – Tablescape exudes a contemporary, yet relaxed vibe so guests can appreciate its premium Euro-Asian fusion cuisine in style and comfort. This all-day dining restaurant makes sure guests start the day right, with a full International Buffet that includes an egg station, freshly brewed specialty tea and coffee and a wide selection of pastries. In keeping with the hotel's promise to deliver the best of Swiss hospitality to guests, diners can also select from the Chef's a la minute menu options.
The restaurant's wine cellar offers a premium selection of fine wines and champagne to accompany their meal. For those looking for some privacy, The Cellar, the private dining room in the restaurant is also available.
The very moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted by an elegant air.
The below would be our menu for the night
We were served some bread soon after.
Our appetizers were served. Mr Cheong ordered the Baby spinach with Honey Mustard Dressing while I ordered the cream of forest Mushroom soup
Mr Cheong was very happy with his salad and he is full of praises for it. The dressing was very fruity in taste
Though the mushroom soup has a very nice name but taste wise was very normal.
Soon our main courses were served. Both of us ordered the same - Roasted Spring Chicken with Wild Mushroom, Garlic Mashed Potato with Merlot Jus. I didn't really like fish and Mr Cheong is not interested in Dory.
the portion as usual for fine dining dishes was small. It would definitely not fill even a lady up if she just have the main course.
taste wise, the roast chicken was good. Both MR Cheong and I love it. The marinate was good. The chicken was tender. The only complain that we had were the small portion cause we weren't full after the main course. :)
We didn't have a choice for dessert under our 'package' menu so both of us had Caramelized Apple and Raisin Crumble served with Mövenpick Vanilla Dream Ice-Cream.
And as the usual practice of fine dining restaurants, presentation plays an important role to the dishes. The dessert came nicely presented
Mr Cheong didn't like vanilla ice cream so I had his scoop as well.:) the apple crumble was difficult to eat and I have absolutely no idea how to eat it gracefully without creating a mess :x
The moment I tried to cut the apple crumble up, all the crumble dropped all over. In the end , I ended up holding everything up and biting it off. Kinda no image hahhaha but that's the only way I can think of without creating a mess yet able to finish it
Mr Cheong didn't quite like the apple crumble as he finds that the base portion aka the tart was too thick. I didn't manage to finish the apple crumble though, so I guess a 3 course would be enough for a lady but not a man. Mr Cheong wasn't full at the end of the 3 course.

At the outside of Tablescape, there are some window display of confectionery where u can purchase. The cakes look good.
There weren't many choices left though.

Exploration of Mövenpick Heritage hotel.
The pool is quite small but looks cozy. I think the poolside chairs are great to be in water.
A wedding was taking place at one of the ballroom
We actually went to take a look and manage to take a peep at the ballroom where the wedding banquet was held. The feel was good. Crystals lights with pink flowers along the aisle. The ballroom is small but cozy. However, I still think Sheraton is better lol cause that's the place I held my wedding :)
