Batam Staycation-Nongsa Point Marina Resort (31 May - 1 June)

2 months in singapore and now we are out again. Feeling blessed that both Mr Cheong and I enjoyed travelling! But this time it is going to be just a short getaway, a weekend staycation for both of us. Mr Cheong needs to save his leaves for our yearly winter trip. :(

This is going to be a long and images intensive post as Im gg to combine my 2D1N trip into 1 single post.

We have booked the 10am ferry. We got out of house at 8+ and tried waiting for a cab, however, after more than a 30min wait, we could not get 1. :(
At 915, Mr Cheong decided that we should stop waiting for a cab n drive to the ferry terminal instead.
Zzzz we only managed to reach 5min before 10am and were denied of boarding.zzzz we were late all due to the failure of the google map app. Both of our app hanged n we lost our wat. That's the reason why I hate google map app. First it kills the battery and it always hang.  Luckily I managed to find the way to the terminal using the Apple map which is in built in iPhone ( though many complained Abt it's lousy accuracy)

Back to not allowing to board the ferry at 10am, the staff was nice enough to arrange for us to take the next ferry at 11am. Since we still have some time, we had our breakfast at the terminal. There wasn't many options and we settled for killiney coffee

I got my usual toast set and Mr Cheong got Nasi Lemak

The 'cool' Mr Cheong is breaking the eggs for me :)

Mr Cheong's Nasi lemak looks pathetic with almost nothing except rice

Batam's timing is 1 he after Singapore. By the time we reached Nongsapura, it is 11am batam time. We found the hotel's shuttle bus and boarded it. We were in fact the first to be seated. So we took a selfie while waiting for the others who took a bloody long time negotiating with the money changer, who went shopping at the mart..zzz so inconsiderate.

A short ride brought us to Nongsa point marina resort. Lol the kaisu me dashed out ( a little too exaggerating) but I was the first to alight from the bus and without waiting for Mr Cheing, I walked straight to the check in counter.

waited for quite a while at the lobby as we were early and the room werent ready yet. I had booked the sea view premium room but was told that it was fully booked?
After some insistance, they managed to get a sea view room for us, but it seems that, there was another couple who also seemed to have booked a sea view room but failed to get it
Thats the reason why I was glad that I was kaisu to rush to the check in counter :)
While waiting for the checking in, we were also served welcome drinks

Soon, we got our room... So towards the room! :)

Ta dang! Our beautiful room! Almost everything is in white.
The bathroom.

The bedroom

And the balcony!

All these are within the vicinity of our room

Mr Cheong is mesmerised by the beautiful view

While Mr Cheong was enjoying his view, I on the other hand was trying to satisfy my narcissism :) selfies and more selfies

When Mr Cheong was back, he joined me for a selfie :)

Time to get out of the room for some exploration

Mr Cheong brought his snorkelling set along.. thinking of trying it out.. but too bad, we found nothing suitable for snorkel so he could only pose with it

We walked towards Turi Beach which is just a few minutes away. The water was clear, though not turquoise like Phi Phi island but clear....

Thought that the above scene looks a little like a pic from Bali instead of Batam?

Now is Mr Cheong's turn to pose :)

Lol and I thought the below pose looked funny...

Mr Cheong found an interesting shell along the way

More photos of the beautiful scenery

After walking for a while, we decided to head back to the hotel to go for a swim, initially we had the intention to go kayaking but we couldnt find a good place for it though there is a shop dealing with such activities
Back to the hotel

Mr Cheong started his fake ang moh lifestyle. LOL he loves to swim, sun tan, n read by the pool. Thus I name his kind of lifestyle the fake ang moh lifestyle. haha

We spent a few hours by the pool and when we were done, we went back to do some washing up and MR Cheong napped! I have to wake him up for dinner. I was hungry!
We went to the in house restaurant for dinner instead of the pool side steamboat and BBQ, There was a live band there too.
Selera restaurant is Nongsa point marina resort's in house restaurant.

Everything was nice and good except that the moment i was at the restaurant, I was 'chased' by mosquitoes. Seeing that i was waving off the mosquitoes, the staff immediately passed me insect repellent for me to apply. Thumbs up for their good service.
I didnt get any bites.. but the poor Mr cheong who initially didnt want to apply the insect repellent had a few bites. hahah

Our appetitiser : Gado Gado
We thought that the presentation of the Gado Gado is quite good.

and soup. Cant remember the name of the soup

Mr Cheong ordered the indonesia Bintang beer

Whereas I ordered their strawberry smoothies which tastes more like strawberry milkshake. The taste of the milk was very strong and it wasnt cold. Not recommended.

Mr Cheong ordered Kuay Tiao for himself

While he ordered chicken for me

The chicken cutlet? came with rice which was presented in a rather cute way.

After a hearty dinner, we went back to the room while I did exfoliation and mask for my face hahah
It was sleeping time! :)

----------------
Day 2:
We woke up in time for breakfast. Partly due to the fact that the time in Batam is 1 hr after Singapore.

The breakfast spread was limited but was still ok.
Though that was the case, the view was spectacular :)

A Photo of us together before we went for a swim again

Soon it was time for us to check out. upon checking out, we had our last meal at Selera restaurant before we took the 1.15pm shuttle bus to the ferry terminal

Time to go back :( Mr Cheong has a changed impression of Batam after this trip and he has been asking me when would we be going to Nongsapoint marina resort again :)
