Cingjing Minsu Review : Starry House 清境觀星園景觀山莊
We were given a room for 4 pax even though there were only the 2 of us. Reason being, they got no more room. It doesn't make a lot of difference for us since we were only going to stay for a night. In fact we only managed to use the room for just a few hours cause, we decided to go for the sunrise tour at the very last min.
The 4 persons room was spacious for us, but I wouldn't say so if there were really 4 pax.
The room was clean but again quite basic.
The comforter come with a heater which u need to switch it on and hide under it. It was cold at night and a heated comforter is a necessity since there wasn't Any heater in the room apart from the comforter and especially so for us who never bring extra clothing.
The 4 pax room came with 2 queen size bed and a small sofa seater for 2 and a small bulky tv ( which surprisingly can still work)
Basic toiletries were also provided for us. However, we decide to be dirty for a night- it was kinda too cold to bathe though hot water shower was available. The washbasin though also provide hot water but took some time before it got heated..
Location of starry house was far from cingjing tourists centre. In fact, starry house is located at the highest peak of cingjing. Starry house is call 觀星園 not for any other reason but it should be a place great for star grazing. We have also been told by the staff at starry house that in fact the location of our room is the best when comes to star grazing ! Isolated from the other rooms, we were at a standalone building with only another room above us.
We paid NT2400 for a night which consists of a steamboat buffet and a simple breakfast. Overall, I would say that starry house is suitable for budget travelers. If it wasn't due to the 228 long weekend causing many hotels to be fully booked, I would have booked other hotel. Given a choice I would spend a little more for a better hotel. But for this particular trip, I thought we were quite lucky that we didn't spend a lot for just few hours of rest. This was just nice and value for money
