4 May 2014 : High Society @ Pacific Plaza
Planned for another restaurant but as it was raining, Mr Cheong decided not to go to somewhere which is so secluded so that we would not be stuck there for the whole evening. Mr Cheong decided to patronise High society restaurant and we decided on the one at Pacific Plaza as it is less crowded. we thought, compared to the one at MBS
So off we go.....
We did not make any reservations but there wasnt a need to. There were not many people there.
Though that was the case, there was another couple who were occupying the seats that I had wanted and the more cozy seats on the 2nd floor was closed. They did not open the whole 2nd floor at all. :(
Well, though that's the case, it did not dampened my spirits for some selfie with the atas ambiance. I especially like their chandelier all around in the restaurant. Not the first time I have patronised this place but this was the first time I was here with Mr Cheong, so ... couple selfies!
These couple selfies were taken using my monopod :) which comes in good use. I have been using the monopod very often. :) The staff saw that we were taking couple selfies and volunteered to take photos for us. We rejected him though as we prefer to take selfies so that we can see ourselves and pose accordingly. :)
Soon after, our drinks arrived. I ordered Amor Amor while Mr Cheong ordered Love so beautiful
Amor Amor is more like a mango smoothie where as Love so beautiful is more or a berries smoothie
And of course some posing with our drinks. Both drinks were not bad. Not too sweet nor too sour and both are kinda refreshing
While waiting for our food, Mr Cheong continued reading his news while I continued with my selfies taking. HAHA and I kinda like this 'irritated face' of mine..
Finally, the food are served!
Duck confit :
Duck confit for Mr Cheong.
The portion is very small, the usual fine dining portion.
But served in a big plate which made the duck drumstick looked even smaller
The Duck confit, though small in portion was actually very tasty. The marination was done nicely and you could actually taste it at every bite.
Next,
Crab in tomato cream spaghetti
Crab in tomato cream spaghetti is for me. This is the very first time I have tried tomato cream. i was a little skeptical when I saw the word "tomato cream" I was thinking of those bolognaise tomato sauce and was kinda reluctant to order it. But well, the taste is different from the usual bolognaise. It is indeed tomato and cream taste. It was not bad, portion is just nice.
After the main course, we decided to order some dessert. Mr Cheong ordered 3 regular size macarons (Green tea, lemon and raspberry) while I ordered a big one (Ispahan - which is lychee+ raspberry+ rose) . :)
HAHA I had a difficult time with the Ispahan and Mr Cheong demonstrated to me that I should eat it like a hamburger
The macarons were delicious and it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.
This dinner cost us about S$100. Expensive but I thought it was worth it, given the ambiance and the tasty food.
I bought more macarons for take away. prices not included in the above bill :)

We then walked passed a Gelato shop just outside Mariott Hotel and Mr Cheong fell in love with their strawberry Gelato there :) a small cup like this (empty inside) cost $5.90 ( My treat for Mr Cheong :P)
And since we were at Orchard area, we decided to check out the Line Pop Out shop which was as usual very crowded. But tonight, there wasnt any mascot :(
