Pure restaurant mookata and Gelateria Italia@ Bugis+ (10 May 2014)

Bought this deal on 21st of April as I thought it was very cheap. S$12.90 per pax and thats only S$25.80 for 2 pax. Have a difficult time trying to call to make appointment. Tried calling in the afternoon to book, but their phone was always either engaged or cant get through. I only managed to book when I called after 5pm. So Im assuming they are not open in the day time. 

I had planned for Mr Cheong to go sim Lim today to change the home button of his iphone and I to change a new tempered glass protector for mine. And from Sim lim, we would go to Golden mile Tower for our mookata. 

First impression of what we experience was that they seriously need to work on the customer service. Not that they were rude. in fact, the staff was rather friendly, so what went wrong? 

Their staff were blur. It seems like they didnt really know what to do. We walked in the shop on our own. After giving them the voucher. they seemed blur, we had to go to an empty table ourselves. They didnt bother to give us their menu (in case the customers wanted to top up) We had to take the menu from the counter on our own.  

We wanted to top up for YangZhou fried rice since it doesnt include any rice at all. But we were informed that Yangzhou fried rice was OOS, thus we replaced it with Salted fish fried rice instead. 

I had forgotten that the deal comes with free flow of green tea and we ordered some soft drinks instead. No one bother to inform us about the green tea too.

Soon, our meat arrived. I would have expected the meat to be the last to be served cause somehow meat tend to turn bad very soon?

First glance at the meat... All except one of the meat is marinated.  :(

Next to be served was the plate of vegetables. They chopped the cabbages into very small pieces which I found it very difficult to cook and eat, so in the end we didnt really touch the cabbages. 

Finally they gave us the utensil ie the steamboat/bbq device. I thought that was supposed to be the first thing to be on the table?

Also they have forgotten to give us the water to be used to refill the steamboat. and Yes it is water. unlike other places where we would be given soup, they used plain water :( 

This was the very first time, we didnt bother to drink the soup at all. 

Lastly, our salted fish fried rice was served.

The portion was pretty small not really worth the S$6. 

Q: Would we still patronise Pure restaurant for mookata again? 

A: No, If ever Im near Golden mile again, I would try other mookata store instead. There is nothing which attracts me to patronise again.

After the not so satisfying mookata dinner, both Mr Cheong and I werent really full, we decided to go for dessert and were thinking where we should go. Decided to check it out at Bugis+

Just before I entered Bugis+ I remembered that there was a gelato shop and we zoomed towards it immediately. 

Mr Cheong tried the strawberry gelato and he likes it so we decided to ordered a waffle with 3 scoops of ice cream. We saw from the banner that it costs only S$13.90 and we thought that was quite worth it. 

After checking out the other flavours, we decided to get 

1) strawberry

2) Lychee

3) Ferrero Rocher

and the good news was, the staff informed me that Singtel user would get a s$3 off. The staff just take a look at my hp and I was given the discount. 

S$10.90 for a waffle with 3 scoops of ice cream! super worth it.

Both of us find that the lychee gelato wasnt up to standard and we agreed that we would not order it the next time. While Mr Cheong likes the strawberry, I like the F.Rocher one. Yummy!!!
